A FEW COMMON QUESTIONS

Before we get started.

What’s the difference between soft washing and pressure washing?

Soft washing uses cleaning solutions with low pressure application and rinsing. Pressure washing relies more on water pressure. The appropriate method depends on the surface, its condition and the buildup being cleaned.

Is your roof cleaning method safe?

For asphalt shingle roofs, our soft-wash approach uses a cleaning solution, consistent with the cleaning method recommended by the Asphalt Roofing Manufacturers Association (ARMA). For algae and moss, ARMA advises against pressure washing asphalt shingles. We assess your roof in person and consider its condition and the shingle manufacturer’s care instructions before cleaning.

How does moss damage my shingles?

According to the Asphalt Roofing Manufacturers Association (ARMA), moss can cause the edges of asphalt shingles to lift or curl, making them more vulnerable to being blown off in windy weather. Heavy moss buildup can also redirect water sideways beneath the shingles, potentially causing moisture damage to the roof deck or leaks. Addressing moss helps protect your roof.
